Meet Kyle Blackburn
Director
of Music Ministry
Kyle, a native of Austin Arkansas, says he was called to work in church music when he was at Arkansas Tech, working with a Praise Band and also as a member of the Circuit Riders, a touring choir at the Wesley Foundation there. He earned his B.A. in music at ATU in 1999. He has been working on his Certification in church music at Perkins School of Theology and should complete it in January 2008.
Kyle was Director of Music at First United Methodist Church in Bonham, Texas from May 2000 through August 2007. There he conducted the Chancel Choir, adult and youth handbells, and a children's handbell/chime choir. Kyle, along with his wife Sarah, also worked in youth ministry at Bonham.
Kyle’s wife Sarah is a LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) working at a dialysis clinic in Little Rock. They had their first child Katherine Elise Blackburn on March 26, 2007. Kyle and Sarah both share a love of God and ministry through music.
